How the line runs

  1. 01

    Collection and pre-treatment

    Collected oil is received, screened and settled.

  2. 02

    Filtration

    Solids and debris are removed ahead of heating.

  3. 03

    Dehydration

    Water is driven off to the level the reaction tolerates.

  4. 04

    Esterification

    Free fatty acids are converted ahead of transesterification.

  5. 05

    Transesterification

    Triglycerides are converted into methyl esters.

  6. 06

    Glycerol separation

    Crude glycerol is drawn off from the ester phase.

  7. 07

    Methanol recovery

    Excess methanol is recovered and returned to the process.

  8. 08

    Purification

    Finished biodiesel is purified and the glycerol stream handled.
